The Leica Geovid 15x56 HD is a hybrid binocular with an intrinsic rangefinder. Leica Geovids are roof prism binoculars, complete with all of the usual refinements, including P40 phase-coated prisms and full HDC multi-coating on 7 lens elements in each barrel. The 15x56 Geovids have a 225-foot field of view at 1000 yards, and offer 15.5 mm of eye relief and multi-position eyecups. Leica Geovids are completely sealed and nitrogen-purged to be fog-proof and waterproof to a depth of 16.5 feet. The 15x56 Geovid HD weighs 45.9 oz. including the batteries. The rangefinder on the Geovid 15x56 HD functions from about 10 to 1300 yards at an accuracy of +/- 0.25-0.5%, providing read-out with a bright LED. The Geovid rangefinder operates in scanning mode and is powered by lithium batteries good for about 2000 measurements, and the system operates with a 1.4 second (maximum) lag time .
